Good Training Is Good Training

Recently, while speaking with a sports medicine professional, I was asked what type of clients I

specialize in. I hesitated to answer for while a number of my clients are baby boomers and

older, I recently finished working with a number of high school athletes and count folks from

every decade in my client list. Thus the title for this article.

Now don’t get me wrong. I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to personal training.

When I developed the “Senior to Senior” intergenerational fitness program I was considered a

“guy who trains athletes.” I said then, and reiterate now, that if you understand movement and

pay attention to the things people do repeatedly, you can use a similar approach for training.

Individual exercises and the intensity at which they are done will vary but there are core

movements that everyone should be able to do and it is my job to find the best way for each

person to get there.

In the next few weeks I will be releasing short videos on these core movements but for now I

stand on what I have always believed, “We are all athletes until the day we stop moving.”
